KRA LOOKBOOK @ 7/10/2011

THE KRA LOOKBOOK IS NOW HERE !!! It is a clear representation of all that Skinny Minority is about, which the company describes as : Designer fashion tends to exclude the fuller women, KRA by Skinny Minority is leveling the playing field."

Please click the link below for the for digital lookbook.

http://skinnyminorityblog.tumblr.com/post/7359802912/kra-by-skinny-minority-lookbook-a-w-2011-curvy

Just about a month ago Karima Renee made me an official member of Team Skinny, remember that post? Since then I have been honored to be working with such a driven, opinionated, and hardworking woman. I had seen previews of the lookbook before it was released because Karima wanted the team's feedback and any corrections we thought should be made for the final release. I was extremely pleased that she even trusted my opinion for such a serious project since I am the rookie intern. I'm trying to become a pro, I think I'm working with the right kind of people!

Curvy girls are still not well represented in the market today, if you ask me, but KRA is here to change that! The line caters to woman sizes 8-20, fashion forward pieces only! Who said curvy girls can't look like they're straight out of a fashion mag? Karima has created pieces that will tastefully extenuate a woman's curves, as well embrace and celebrate a woman's passion for fashion.

If you liked to know more about Skinny Minority head over to the company's website :

And of course FOLLOW Skinny Minority on Twitter @SkinnyMinority

More KRA pics after the jump! Enjoy :)

Alex Scott x Lemonade Stand for Cancer @ 6/09/2011

Today was extremely emotional for me. Today I discovered Alex Scott, the little girl that had Cancer and started a Lemonade Stand to raise money for Cancer research. She was extremely successful and passionate. She appeared on Oprah and the Today show with her parents to be recognized for her good deeds. Unfortunately, at age 8 this beautiful girl lost her battle to Cancer. Although I don't know her, hearing this story brought a river of tears to my eyes for many reasons. My mother is a Cancer survivor and it just reminded me that it doesn't hurt to help people. If there was no research my mother would have never beat her Cancer. In light of this realization, I decided that I wanted to donate money to the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and so I did! I did further reading about the Foundation and fell in love with little Alex's story even more. Each year, I want to donate money to her foundation for those struggling with Cancer, those who didn't beat Cancer, and for those who have survived Cancer !
